Joseph Anthony Gallagher

Joseph “Joey Apollo” Anthony Gallagher entered the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. He was surrounded by his family and was finally released from his earthly pain and entered into the perfect gates of Heaven. Mr. Gallagher was loved by everyone who knew him and when he was able to, he enjoyed spending time bird watching, doing yard work, and spending time with his family. For 59 years he was a devoted and faithful husband to his loving wife, Christina Gallagher, who entered Heaven’s precious gates in 2013. Anyone who knows Joey, knows how much he loved Tina, and how she was everything to him. He was the hardest working man that his family had ever known and he retired from New York City Housing Authority. Mr. Gallagher was born on January 9, 1938 in Bronx, NY, to Catherine Apollo. He is preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Christina, his mother, his in-laws, and three precious grandchildren, Paul Gallagher, Joseph Gallagher, and Bobby Wood. Mr. Gallagher is survived by his children, Diana (Donnie) Sullivan Gallagher, Joseph (Todd Rose) Gallagher, Anthony Gallagher, Cathy (Karl) Snyder, and Joey (Elena) Gallagher. He is also survived by his sisters, sister-in-law, and many, many loving nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great grandchildren. There are no words to describe how much his family will miss him and how much they loved him. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Mountain Valley Hospice, his caregiver, Lisa Rucker, and the several medical professionals that have given their loving care to the Gallagher family for many years. In accordance with the ongoing social distancing guidelines, a private service will be planned at a later date.
