Mrs. Josephine Coram Norman, 92, of Winston-Salem, passed away Friday morning at her home. She was born in Yadkin County to the late Jesse and Callie Martin Coram on January 23, 1925. She won the award as the Mother of the Year in 1982 and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She always strived for family values. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Howard Norman, daughter Elmaria Mangum, brothers Howard and Montgomery Coram, and by a sister Louise Eldridge. Surviving are her children William Corbett, Percy Corbett, Harold Corbett, Kathy Norman, Hobart L. Norman, Deanna Dee Banner, Barbara B. Van Dyke, Sunday Sue McPeak, and a step daughter Sharon Sue Turner, a sister Mary Royster, 16 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Gentry Funeral Chapel with Rev. Stanley Royster officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
