Joshua "Josh" Hazelwood

Joshua “Josh” Michael Hazelwood, 20, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2021 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born December 27, 2000 in Forsyth County to James Edgar Hazelwood and Tammy Jean Johnson Hazelwood of Boonville. Josh was a 2019 graduate of Starmount High School, where he loved attending the football games. He loved music, being outdoors, and swimming. Josh enjoyed dancing Woody, collecting bears, and he loved collecting tooth brushes, and beautiful flowers. He was proceeded in death by his paternal grandmother, Edna Hazelwood; maternal grandmother, Eva Sheets; and his maternal grandfather, Roy Johnson Sr. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Santana (Robert) Thompson, and Amanda Hazelwood; brother, Eric Hazelwood; paternal grandparents, Billy F. (Jeannie) Hazelwood; aunts and uncles, Kathy (Jay) Spencer, Eva (Maleah) Johnson-Yazell, Becky Harmon, Roy Johnson Jr., Billy Hazelwood, Jennifer (Boy) Yuwapun, Cindy Speers; nieces and nephews, Kobe, Kimara, Cassidy, Camryn, K’miyah, K’mora, Madison, Logan, Isabella; and Josh’s “Special Angel” whom he dearly loved, Candi Mounce. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Gentry Family Funeral Service. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, July 8, 2021, 2:00 PM at South Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Hauser officiating.
