Joyce Diane Carter Holden

Joyce Diane Carter Holden, 66, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 25, 2020 after a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Forsyth County on September 29, 1954; daughter of the late Harold P. Carter and Dorothy Mae Brown Carter. She was a faithful member of Mt. Carmel Friends Church where she served in many different capacities. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Ann Carter and Brenda C. Saunders. Surviving are her loving and devoted husband of 48 years, Steve Holden, two daughters, Tracy Farmer (Jeff) and Toni Moxley (Matt). Sisters Alice Carter and Debbie Cave. Sister-in-law Betty Spillman (David). Six grandchildren: Cody, Chase, and Chance Farmer; Mattie, Holden and Colton Moxley, and several special nieces and nephews, but one was more like a son, Daniel Starling (Mandy-wife, Karson and Katie Mae – daughters). MawMaw loved watching her grandchildren in all of their shenanigans. She was happiest with the grandkids and spending time with friends and family playing card games, shopping, and eating breakfast at Liberty. Her graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Mt. Carmel Friends Church by Pastor Jeff Farmer. Joyce will lie in-state from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Mt. Carmel Friends Church. The family would like to thank the Cancer Center and 9th floor of Novant Health Forsyth Memorial Hospital Staff and Mt. Carmel church family for all of their support and love.
