Karen Marie Lowrance

Mrs. Karen Marie Lowrance, 64 of Elkin passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023 at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law. Karen was born in Caldwell County to the late Marvin Claude and Minnie Juanita Coffey Lowrance. Her hobbies included gardening, crocheting, wreathmaking and sewing. She enjoyed watching sunrises and sunsets, and she was a wonderful cook. Her favorite memories included raising her daughters, living at the beach and having a life full of travel and wonderful vacations. She is survived by two daughters: Wendy Johnson (Gregg Simmons), Angela Johnson (Wesley Carpenter); two grandsons: Qwenton Johnson (Jasmine), Charlie Carpenter; a granddaughter, Cassidy Moxley (Austin Hartman); a significant other, Ken Haney; four brothers: Claude Lowrance (Carolyn), Ray Lowrance (Becky) and Darrell Lowrance (Gail), Fred Lowrance (Susie) five sisters: Frances Porter (Tinker), Claire Austin, Frieda Lowrance, Lisa Lowrance and Carol Hass (Terry); and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 26, 203 from 2:00 PM til 3:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM in the Gentry Family Chapel with Pastor Kevin Munson officiating. Burial will follow in the family cemetery. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Lowrance family.
