Katena "Kate" Moore Sebastian Morrison

Boonville – Katena “Kate” Moore Sebastian Morrison, 97, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022. She was born June 8, 1925 in Catawba County to the late Hoyle Cecil Sebastian and Annie Lois Moore Sebastian. Katena was an active member of Boonville Baptist Church. She sang in the choir for over 73 years, was the director on various occasions, was in the women’s club, and also a youth leader. Katena did a lot of volunteer work and always enjoyed helping people. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cecil Morrison; sister, Wanda Wood; brothers, Cecil Sebastian, Wayne Sebastian, Don Sebastian, Robert Sebastian; special friend, Harvey Smith; brothers-in-law, Silas Wood, Earl Hendricks; sisters-in-law, Scottie Sebastian, Doris Sebastian, Flarnie Sebastian. Surviving are her children, Brady (Ann) Morrison, Renee (late-Ron) Jones; grandchildren, Eric (Karen) Morrison, Julie Ann (Daniel) Hutchens, Brian (Teresa) Jones, Robert (Joy) Jones; great grandchildren, Annemarie Hutchens, Kerianne Hutchens, Alex Morrison, Katena Morrison, Isabella Jones, Abigail Jones, Olivia Jones; step-great grandchildren, Spencer Easter, Leah Easter; sister, Betty Hendricks; brothers, Sheldon (Linda) Sebastian, Tommy (Annie) Sebastian, Dean Sebastian; sister-in-law, Sheila Sebastian; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Boonville Baptist Church by the Rev. John Brown and the Rev. Eric Morrison. Burial will follow at Boonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
