JONESVILLE – Mrs. Kathy Ann Whitaker, 67, of Oak Lane passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Woltz Hospice Home of Dobson. She was born November 21, 1956 in Surry County to the late James and Martha Ford Childress. Mrs. Whitaker worked for several years in different restaurants in the area, was a member of Trinity Worship Center of Jonesville; loved going fishing, spending time at the ocean, and making jewelry. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother and 2 sisters. Surviving are her son, Chris Whitaker; her grandchildren, Dillon Gray and Kaitlyn Gray; 3 great-grandchildren; her sister, Diane (Rev. Tommy) Conley; brother, Larry Childress; and a special friend, Donnie Stanley. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Trinity Worship Center of Jonesville. A Celebration of Life Service will follow the visitation 2:00 PM Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Trinity Worship Center of Jonesville by Rev. Tommy Conley and Rev. Diane Conley.
