Kenneth Roosevelt Brooks

Mr. Kenneth Roosevelt Brooks, 61, son of the late Henry Williams and Dorothy Nell Brooks. Brooks was born in Buncombe county on June 16, 1959. Kenny Brooks as he was affectionately known, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 at SECU Hospice Home in Yadkinville, NC after a long illness. He attended and was an active member of the Boonville First united Presbyterian Church. He was a loving husband, brother, son, father and a friend, also he loved playing golf, fishing, and all sports, his favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and the Carolina Tar Heels. He was married to Annette Brooks his wife and devoted companion of 23 years, his children Leah Pilson (Lemont) and Harry Harold Grinton, III, (Diana), two grandchildren, Logan Alexander Pilson and Spencer Lucas Bryan and a sister, Annie Brooks Wheeler (William). Mr. Brooks will lie in state on Monday May 3, 2021 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and Tuesday from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at Gentry Family Funeral Service Yadkinville.   A celebration of life service will be conducted Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at 11:00 am at Gentry Funeral Chapel with Rev. Sam Puryear officiating. Burial will follow in the Boonville First United Presbyterian church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Boonville First United Presbyterian Fellowship Hall fund, P.O. B. 885, Boonville, NC 27011 or Mt. Valley Hospice, PO Box 1267, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
