Kenneth David Hutchens

Yadkinville Mr. Kenneth David Hutchens, 78, passed away Monday, April 19, 2021 at his home after a short illness. Mr. Hutchens was born August 10, 1942 in Forsyth County to Pete and Hazel Simpson Hutchens. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy. Kenneth loved to hunt and fish, and was able to do anything like working on cars, plumbing, electrical, building, and was always there to teach anyone that needed his help. We will all miss his great knowledge. He also enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. One of his favorite past times was being with his K-9 companion, Duncan. He loved going to breakfast at The Diner with his friends and family. He was a wonderful father and grandfather. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Brown; step children, Diana (David) Spratt, Kathy Lee, Cindy Frondarina, and Susan (Donald) Pendry; grandchildren, Ashley (Jason) Solis, Amber (Austin) Russ, and Austin Brown; great grandchildren, Evelyn and Eleanor Solis; a brother, Wade Hutchens, Sr.; great friends, Francis Moncellec and Jackie Bates; and K-9 companions, Duncan, Shadow, Bella, Remi and Doodle. A graveside service will be conducted at 12:00PM, Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Forsyth Memorial Park with Rev. Stephen Evans officiating and full military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and US Naval Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 28th from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Yadkin Human Society, PO Box 1652 Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of WFBMC 7th floor cancer center for the loving care given to Mr. Hutchens.
