Larry Roy Parks

Boonville Mr. Larry Roy Parks, 79, passed away peacefully, Monday, February 11, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Parks was born January 25, 1940 in Yadkin County to Ellis and Mallie Marsh Parks. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and retired from Estes Trucking with over 25 years of service. Mr. Parks enjoyed playing the lottery and watching NASCAR; he was Dale Earnhardt’s biggest fan. In addition to his parents, Mr. Parks was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Freddy Parks. He is survived by three daughters, Sandra (Chris) Daye, Gina (Barry) Shore, and Wendy (Will) Miller; grandchildren, Savannah (Jonathan) Williams, Brianna (Scott) Milholand, Hayley, Hillary, & Holly Shore, Wesley & Brady Miller; one great grandchild, Vaida Faye Williams; one brother, Jimmy Parks; six sisters, Catherine (Bill) Ellis, Mary Douglas, Faye Holton, Jean Hall, Sue Reavis, and Carolyn (Bud) Bell; and a very special friend, Harvey Wishon. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Don Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00PM prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3808 Center Rd, Boonville, NC 27011.
