Winston-Salem Mr. Larry Sherman Renegar, 78, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021 at his home. Mr. Renegar was born November 9, 1943 in Iredell County to the late Joseph Sherman and DeEtte Wooten Renegar. He graduated from West Yadkin High School in 1962 and Wake Forest University in 1966. Mr. Renegar retired from R.J. Reynolds as a Senior Systems Analyst after 33 years of service. He was a member of Peace Haven Baptist Church in Winston-Salem where he served as a deacon, a member of the Mission Team, and the Buildings and Grounds Team. He also taught in the preschool department for many years. Larry enjoyed his Thursday morning outings with the ROMEO (Retired Old Men Eating Out) Club at Golden Corral. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 55 years, Vonda Groce Renegar; his daughter, Susan (David) Wendell; his son, Scott (Laura) Renegar; his grandchildren who are very special to him, Mary Louise Renegar, Ben Wendell, Olivia Grace Renegar, and Kate Wendell; his brother, Archie (Jackie) Renegar; his sister, Gayle Brown; two nieces, Stephanie (Marcus) Wilson and Shannon Renegar; a great niece, Peyton Wilson; and a brother-in-law, Doug (Wanda) Groce. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Flat Rock Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Nathan Parrish officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peace Haven Baptist Church Mission Team or to Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. The family requests that everyone in attendance wear a mask and practice social distancing. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Renegar family.
