LeDean Stokes Childress

Childress Boonville – Margaret LeDean Stokes Childress, 69, passed away January 28, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born November 4, 1948 in Surry County to the late Charles Wiseman Stokes and Novella Stanley Stokes.  LeDean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and always put others before herself. She was very faithfully to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Buddy Dobbins, Bobby Dobbins; sisters, Brenda Garvin, Lola Mae Dollar; son, Greg Collins.  Surviving is her husband, Bobby Gene Childress; children, Marty (Ashley) Collins, Josh (Carrie) Collins; step-children, Mark (Kem) Childress, Melinda (Trey Adams)  Payne; grandchildren, Luke, Kylie, Carson, Ellie; step grandchildren, Nikki, Jamie, Matt, Eric; step great grandchildren, Taylor, Haleigh, Lilly, Knox; sisters, Hellon (Bernays) White, Mary (Paul) Holland.  Her memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev. James Pardue and the Rev. James Miles.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 prior to the service on Wednesday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.  The family would like to thank all of her friends and family for all the love and support shown to her and her family.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Industry of the Blind, 7730 North Point Blvd, Winston-Salem, NC  27106 or to Yadkin Baptist Mission Church, 117 Jefferson Street, Yadkinville, NC  27055.  Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Childress family.  Online condolences can be made at www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
