Lela "Leigh" Frizzell Barker

February 3, 1938 — February 13, 2022

Lela “Leigh” Frizzell Barker, 84, passed away Sunday February 13, 2022. She was born February 3, 1938 in Jackson County to the late Norman Frizzell and Ethel Buchanan Frizzell. Mrs. Barker loved Jesus, her family, and fellowship with people. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ambrose “AJ” Barker; grandson Andrew Joby Barker Jr.; nine siblings. Surviving are her two daughters Jennifer (Scott) Snow, Michelle Barker; two stepsons Joby (Kim) Barker, Terry (Ailyn) Vance; grandchildren Cody (Anna) Snow, Bethanie Snow, Joshua Barker, Jared Barker, Jon Barker, Kyra Vance; great granddaughter Emmeline Snow; two sisters Mae (Rosie) Nicholson, and Nina Green; several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday February 19, 2022 at United Family Church in Lewisville by Pastor Rodney Ashby and Pastor Paul Kendall. Family will receive friends following the Funeral Service at the church. Burial will be at New Vision Worship Center in Clemmons. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of Village Care of King and Mountain Valley Hospice for the loving care given to Mrs. Barker. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Barker family.
