Yadkinville Mrs. Lena Mae Shore Allgood, 96, went home to be with our Lord on Monday, February 21, 2022 at Forsyth Medical Center. She is now reunited with many of her loved ones who were there to welcome her home. Mrs. Allgood will always be remembered for the love she expressed to her family and for her Christian character and integrity. She leaves behind an example of faith and grace for all of us to follow. Mrs. Allgood was born February 9, 1926 in Cabarrus County to Gwyn and Sallie Miller Shore. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Allgood was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Elmer Allgood; two children, Robert Allgood and Doris Baity; two great grandchildren, Jacob and Ethan James Steelman; two sisters; and six brothers. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Louise Allgood; grandchildren, Jeff (Linda) Baity, Valerie (Ronald) Cockerham, and Penny Krystyn; and great grandchildren, Adam & Autumn Baity, Victoria Steelman, and Angelica, Ashlynn, and Alyssa Krystyn. A very special thank you goes to her daughter-in-law, Louise for the amazing love, care and support given to Mrs. Allgood. The family cannot thank you enough for all you have done. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00PM, Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Turner’s Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Baity and Rev. Scott Welch officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Allgood will lie in state from 2:30 to 3:00PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mrs. Allgood’s favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
