Lendon McKinley Chambers

Lendon McKinley Chambers, 83, passed away Sunday April 9, 2023. He was born June 6, 1939 in Wilkes County to the late Wake McKinley Chambers and Virginia Dare Hunnicutt Chambers. Lendon loved restoring old tractors, gardening, old coins, he loved his family and never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Thelma Lee Barnard Chambers; son Terry Chambers. Surviving are his children Darrell (Anue) Chambers, Leslie (Marvin) Andrews, Chris Chambers (Michelle Shafer); grandchildren Kelly (Adam) Wilcox, Hannah Chambers, Jennie (Justin) Smith, Lanette Lassiter, Laresa (Eric) Grimwood, Heather (Jimmy) Penland, Austin Chambers; daughter in law Melissa Chambers. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday April 13, 2023 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday April 14, 2023 at New Hope Baptist Church in Hamptonville by Rev Bert Mathis and Rev. Brenda Wallace. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gordon Hospice House 2347 Simonton Road Statesville, NC 28625. Gentry Family Funeral service in Yadkinville is serving the Chambers family.
