Mr. Robert “Leon” Triplett, 79, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024. He was born April 15, 1945 in Surry County to the late JF Triplett and Jettie Bell Triplett Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Miranda Bell Triplett; his step-father, Elmer Johnson; a daughter, Anita Lynn Triplett; sisters, Alene Hanes, Hazel Triplett, Frances Howell; brothers, Jim Triplett, Cliff Triplett; step-children, Debbie Parks, Randy Parks. Leon enjoyed NASCAR, going to car shows, vintage cars, restoring his truck, and he especially loved spending time in his recliner at the shop with Terry. He is survived by his children, Stevie Triplett, Rita Triplett Wilson, Sherry (Greg) Triplett Holbrook, Terry (Wendy) Triplett; step-children, Ricky (Gail) Parks, Bridgette Ford; grandchildren, Allen (Stephanie) Holbrook, Brittany (Jacob) Allen, Haily (Zach) Church, Cody Wilson, Justin Triplett, Blake Wilson, Nia Triplett, Steven Triplett; great-grandchildren, Olivia Holbrook, Abigail Holbrook, Conley Holbrook, Parker Allen, Lawsyn Allen, Victoria Triplett, Darci Church, Atticus Church; sister, Pat Coppley; many nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, and step great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends, Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church in Boonville. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM at the church, burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to give a special thank you to Mtn. Valley Hospice, especially nurse Megan Cheek for the loving care given to Leon and a special thank you to Leon’s special companion, Ann Baugess. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Triplett family.
