Lester Burl Howell

Lester Burl Howell, 63, passed away on Tuesday August 18, 2020 at home. He was born in Ashe County on January 18, 1957; son of the late Wert Howell and Lucy Grace Patrick Howell. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; J.C. and Grover Howell and two sisters; Kathleen Mahaffey and Joann Miller. Lester was of the Baptist faith. He was a unique fellow and set in his own ways, loved his horses, the outdoors and his beagle dogs. Survivors include his loving wife; Regina M. Howell, step daughter; Tina Castle, daughter; Lucy Dawn Howell Caldwell (Glenn) and  son; Elijah B. Howell (Brittany) , five grandchildren; Gretchin ”Tadpole”:, Joanna “Jo-Jo”, Allison “Rosebush”, Annie and Justin “Bam-Bam”, three sisters; Virginia Wyatt, Brenda Hall and Lizzy Royal. A service will be held at Gentry Funeral Chapel - Jonesville on Friday August 21, 2020 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Tim Tucker officiating. Mr. Howell can be viewed from 12:00 pm till 3:00 pm on Friday August 21, 2020 at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Carla Myers for all her caring ways as his hospice nurse.
