Lillie Mae Sneed Steelman

November 12, 1944 — December 3, 2021

 On Friday December 3, 2021 our beloved mother left this world to join our dad in glory.  Our sweet mother Lillie Mae Sneed Steelman was born November 12, 1944 to Charlie and Necie Sneed of Boonville.  She graduated from Courtney High School in 1963. She then went to nursing school and graduated with her LPN.  She went on to marry the love of her life Paul Ramey Steelman on October 31, 1964.  While raising her three children, working on the family farm, and working full time as an LPN she received her RN from Wilkes Community College. She was beloved by her family, her friends and her coworkers.  She loved her children, grandchildren, her dogs, and the Lord fiercely.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 29 years Paul Ramey Steelman, by her sisters Etta Mae Sneed, Cora Charles, Mary Lee Hoots, and Gladys Cleary, and her brothers Junior Sneed, Curtis Sneed and James Sneed. Loved ones left to cherish her memory are her three children Paula Steelman Driver, Brett Steelman (Chelsea), Jennifer Sizemore (Michael). Her Grandchildren Christian Sizemore, Tiffany Eldridge (Jordan), Hayle Baucom (Tyler), Austin Gunter (Courtney), Shey Steelman, Breanna Steelman (Jeremy Roberts), Sidney Sizemore, Paul Huneycutt, Alana, Bryson, RJ, and Silas Steelman and 6 great grandchildren, Her sister Annie Turner (Leroy) of Yadkinville and Brother Clyde Sneed of Reidsville, and Her sister-in-law Opal Sneed of Harmony As well as many nieces, nephews and Special friends.

Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 2:00PM at Cornerstone Family Ministries with Rev. Lenuel Lusk and Rev. Austin Gunter officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon -2:00PM at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Sandy Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Her family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice for their exceptional care and support of our mother during the last year. We would also like to thank Dr. Joanie Williams of Yadkin Medical Associates for her care and encouragement of our mom.  We would also like to thank her wonderful caregivers who took care of our mother in the last year, her grandchildren Tiffany, Breanna and Sidney and her daughter Paula.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030. Online Condolences may be made at www.gentryfuneralservice.com. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Steelman family.
