Linda Goodin Cook

Yadkinville Ms. Linda Ann Goodin Cook, 92, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Ms. Cook was born July 5, 1929 in Iredell County to Edgar and Viola Creason Goodin. She was a member of Northwood Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Ms. Cook was preceded in death by her husband, William Frank Cook; and siblings, Nonnie Heffner, Sadie Speaks, Gilmer “Big Boy” Goodin, and Lawrence Goodin. She is survived by her two children, Glenda Fortune and Dale (Ruth) Cook; grandchildren, Shannon (Lee) Gavin, Sherri Parker, and Michael Cook; great grandchildren, Dyson & Shalyn Bell, Xander Parker, Kaylee, Caden and Mattie Gavin; a sister, Carolyn Prevette; and a brother, Gary (Sandra) Goodin. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00AM, Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville. A private burial will be held at a later time. Ms. Cook will be available for public viewing Monday, January 3, 2022 from 11:00AM to 5:00PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northwood Baptist Church, 1309 Northwood Church Road Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Yadkin Nursing Center, especially Blake Cline, for the loving care given to Ms. Cook.
