EAST BEND – Mrs. Linda Lane Hutchens, 76, of Indian Heaps Road passed away peacefully at her home Friday February 14, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 4, 1948 in Forsyth County to the late John Wesley and Ida Boles Lane. Mrs. Hutchens was retired from Hanes/ Sara Lee Corporation with over 42 years of service as a payroll accountant specialist. She was a faithful member of Forbush Friends Meeting and was always willing to help others. She was an excellent cook and found true joy in her life baking her wonderful cakes and cookies for everyone, especially her children and grandchildren whom she loved unconditionally. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy Gray Hutchens and her sister, Jane Needham. Surviving are her devoted children, Luke Hutchens, Tracy Hale and her husband, Jeremy; her loving grandchildren, Sarah Hutchens, Avery Call, Bristol Call, Jaelynn Hale, Seth Hale; her 10 brothers and sisters, Marga Williams, William (Mary) Lane, Patty (Lloyd) McCormick, Nellie Broyhill, Johnny (Pam) Lane, Judy (Melvin) Long, Richard (Carol) Lane, Rufus (Donna) Lane, Kay (Rick) Woolen, Donald Lane; and several nieces, nephews, and loving friends. The family would also like to express their gratitude to Ronald Hauser for being a faithful friend to the family through the years. Her funeral service will be 2:00 PM Monday at Forbush Friends Meeting by Rev. Mitchell See. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Forbush Friends Meeting, PO Box 27, East Bend, NC 27018.
