Harmony -  Mrs. Linda Kay Dickens Smith, 71, of Powell Bridge Road passed away peacefully Sunday March 6, 2022 at the SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkin.  She was born February 20, 1951 in Iredell County to the late Truman Kyle and Ruby Haynes Dickens.  Mrs. Smith worked for several years at the Turnersburg Livestock Café and was a loving, devoted, wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker for her family.  She enjoyed crocheting, sewing for the family, and spending time with all of her grandchildren.  Mrs. Smith was a faithful member of Rock Spring Baptist Church where she served the church faithfully as a Sunday School Teacher, Youth Leader, worked several years as the custodian, mowing, maintenance, and actively loved singing in the choir.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Gary Thomas Smith on October 9, 2018; by a brother-in-law, Jerry Ratledge; and by a great-grandchild, Adeline Haley Mitchell.  Surviving are her children, Penny (Darrell) Mitchell, Monica Hutchens, Kyle (April) Smith, Rev. Joshua (Andrea) Smith; Grandchildren, Jacob (Megan) Mitchell, Natalie (Daniel) Harpster, Kayla Hutchens (Stephen Hicks); USMC PFC Luke Hutchens and fiance’, Mackenzie Holliday; Naomi Smith, Kaleb Smith, Ansley Smith, Zoey Smith, Reiley Midkiff, Avalyn Midkiff; Great-Grandchildren, Avery Mitchell, Acacia Hicks; and her sisters, Annette Ratledge, Janie (Jerry) Crews.  A Memorial Service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Rock Spring Baptist Church by Rev. Joshua Smith and Rev. Larry Belton.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.  The family will be meeting other times at the home of Kyle and April which is at the Old Truman Dickens Farm house, 238 Hardy Road, Harmony, NC.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Brenners Children's Hospital, Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, Medical Center Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27157.  Online condolences may be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
