Lola Vanhoy Hutchens

Hamptonville – Lola Marie Vanhoy Hutchens, 82, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021. She was born July 30, 1938 in Yadkin County to the late Vernice and Opal Brown Vanhoy. Lola retired from the Yadkin County school system and always loved reading with the children. She enjoyed cooking, spending time at the ocean with her family, and was an avid gardener. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Norman Vanhoy. Surviving is her husband of 63 years, Kenneth Ray “Hutch” Hutchens; daughters, Kelly (Mickey) Hutchens-Dale, Suzy Hutchens (Dan Thurman); grandchildren, Heather (Philip) McDowell, Evan (Angel) Davis; great grandchildren, Davis McDowell, Story McDowell, Brynlee Davis; sister, Bonnie (Lee) Sizemore; brother, Darrell Vanhoy. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 2, 2021 at Mountain View Baptist Church by the Rev. Tim Tucker. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
