Mrs. Louise Mathis Chappell, age 90, passed away at home, on November 18, 2021. Louise was born in Wilkes County on December 23, 1930 to the late Naomie Mathis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Cloyce Chappell; son, Mark Harold Chappell.
Louise was a great cook and a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed spending time at the lake with her best friend, Malinda Riddle. She loved her church family at Swaims Baptist Church and missed them when she couldn’t be there. She enjoyed spending time with her beautiful granddaughter, Iris. Louise loved to read, and was a very sweet, caring lady who doted on her son, Mark. Louise was beautiful inside and out. In her younger days she was a model for Thalhimers. She enjoyed farming and was a wonderful seamstress.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter-in-law, Amy Chappell; granddaughter, Iris Chappell; brother, Jimmie Mathis; several nieces, nephews, & cousins.
The family is eternally grateful for the loving care given to Mrs. Chappell by Wake at Home Hospice Care, Bill & Debbie Billings, Stephanie Billings, Merlie Burkenbine, Linda Luffman, & Carol Blackburn. In lieu of flowers memorials in her name may be made to Wake at Home Hospice Care, 126 Executive Drive #110, Wilkesboro, NC 28697 or Swaims Baptist Church, 3919 Swaims Church Rd, Hamptonville, NC 27020
Louise will be available for viewing on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 11:00 – 5 PM at the funeral home. The graveside service will be at Swaims Baptist Church in Hamptonville at 2 PM on Sunday, November 21, 2021, officiated by Rev. Gordon Macemore & Rev. Joey Moore.
