Winston Salem Mrs. Lucy Mae Brown Taylor, 85, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mrs. Taylor was born March 4, 1934 in Yadkin County to John and Nellie Stokes Brown. She was a member of Mtn. Grove UMC and enjoyed gardening. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, “Jack” Taylor; one sister, Hazel Gardner; and two brothers, Jack and Garl Brown. She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia (Darrell) Moorefield and Sylvia (Harold) Tilley; two grandchildren, Austin Tilley and Steve (Mollie) Tilley; two great grandchildren, Corey and Elizabeth Tilley; one sister, Helen Brown; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved K-9 Companion, Yoyo. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00PM, Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Gentry Family Chapel in Jonesville with Rev. Dr. Claudia Harrelson officiating. Burial will follow at Mtn. Grove UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00PM, prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston Salem, NC 27106. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, Trellis Supportive Care, and Chaplain Rennie Adcock for the love, care and support given to Mrs. Taylor and her family.
