Madelyn Collins Gilmore

Mrs. Madelyn Ruth Collins Gilmore, 97, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024. She was born March 12, 1927 in Yadkin County to the late Miles Zeno Collins and Annie Ruth Burchette Collins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Noah Gaston Gilmore Sr.; a son, Larry Michael Gilmore; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Gilmore; and her brothers, Alton Collins, Vernon Collins, MZ Collins, and Jimmy Burchette. Mrs. Gilmore was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church, where she loved attending while her health permitted. Madelyn loved strawberry’s, taking care of her grandchildren, working in her flower garden and she loved her faithful cat “Sophia”. She is survived by her children, Gene Gilmore, Steve “Beatrice” Gilmore, Ronnie Gilmore, Noah “Jr” (Teresa) Gilmore, David (Faye) Gilmore, Cherlyl (Joel) Smith; grandchildren, Darrell Gilmore, Clint (Tracy) Gilmore, Steven (Vi) Gilmore, Brad (Monica) Gilmore, Johnnie (Trista) Gilmore, Hannah (Michelle) Gilmore, Melinda Gilmore, Bridget (David) Murphy; thirteen great-grandchildren; her sister, Jeanette Hinshaw, Lousie (Edward) Livengood; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Fall Creek Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM, with Rev. James Pardue officiating. Burial will follow church cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thank you to David and Faye for taking great care of Mrs. Gilmore.
