Margaret Mackie Anderson

Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Mackie Anderson, 94, passed away Monday, July 9, 2024. She was born December 19, 1929 to the late Frank Mackie and Izetta Steelman Mackie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Thomas Anderson; brother, Sonny Mackie; sister, Ruth Moxley. She is survived by sons, Andy (Jackie) Anderson of Granite Falls, NC, Mitch (Mykie) Anderson of Milan, TN, Danny (Toni) Anderson of Granite Falls, NC; grandchildren, Billy (Jessica) Anderson, Miles (Molly) Anderson, Makala (Jesse) Beaty, Dan (Megan) Anderson, Matt (Jenn) Anderson. Mrs. Anderson was of the Baptist faith. Margaret’s focus in life was caring for her husband and three sons. She spent a great deal of her time following her sons’ athletic teams. In addition to supporting their athletic interests, she required each son to read the classics and select and play a band instrument. Margaret’s hobbies included watching Antiques Roadshow, and collecting antique furniture. Margaret was the consummate supportive wife and mother. A family graveside service will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 11, 2024 at the Yadkinville Cemetery with Rev. Palmer Clemmer, a dear family friend officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial Amorem Hospice, 902 Kirkwood St. N.W., Lenoir, NC 28645 or to Grace Village Assisted Living, 501 Riverbend Dr., Granite Falls, NC 28630.
