Maria Reyes Ledezma Delaserna

María Reyes Delaserna quien vivía en Hamptonville, NC, falleció el domingo, 17 de abril, 2022 a la edad de 83 años. Ella nació el 6 de enero, 1939 en el Rancho Los Nogales en Tamaulipas México, hija de Arnulfo Ledezma y Verónica Camacho. Aparte de sus padres, ella fue precedida en muerte por su hermano, Napoleón Ledezma y 9 otros hermanos y hermanas que fallecieron de niños e infantes. La sobreviven su esposo David Delaserna, su hijo David Arnulfo Delaserna (Stacy Delaserna), su hermana Chucha Ledezma y varios sobrinos y sobrinas. María Reyes Delaserna who lived in Hamptonville, NC passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at the age of 83. She was born on January 6, 1939 in Rancho Los Nogales, in Tamaulipas México, the daughter of Arnulfo Ledezma and Verónica Camacho. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Napoleón Ledezma and 9 other brothers and sisters that passed away as children and infants. Surviving is her husband, David Delaserna, her son David Arnulfo Delaserna (Stacy Delaserna), her sister Chucha Ledezma and several nieces and nephews. Hay muchas cualidades que vienen a la mente cuando piensa de María: amorosa, alegre, leal, enérgica, entusiasta, dedicada y espiritual. Todos que la conocían sabían que siempre estaba sonriendo. A pesar de tener muchas dificultades durante su vida, ella nunca se dio por vencida. Le encantaba trabajar afuera, haciendo lo que pidiera para cuidar de su alrededor. Le encantaba escuchar música, cantar, bailar, tocar la harmónica y hablar con los que encontraba. Aun si no hablaban el mismo idioma o si no la entendían, ella seguía hablando… con una sonrisa. Su mayor alegría era sirviendo a su Dios Jehová junta con familia y amigos y ayudando a otros aprender de Él. There are many qualities that come to mind when you think of María: loving, happy, loyal, energetic, enthusiastic, dedicated and spiritual. Everyone who met her knew she was always smiling. Although through her life she had many challenges, whatever they were, she never let them bring her down. She loved to work outside doing anything she could to take care of the surroundings. She enjoyed listening to music, singing, dancing, playing the harmonica and talking to everyone she met. Even if they didn’t speak the same language or understand her, she still kept talking…with a smile. Her greatest happiness was in serving her God Jehovah along with family and friends and helping others to learn about Him. María creció en un área rural en el norte de México donde aprendió el valor del trabajo duro y dedicación gracias a sus padres. En México ella hizo una variedad de trabajos incluyendo: haciendo tequila con su padre en el negocio de la familia, comenzando como costurera y haciendo vestido cuando era adolescente, haciendo fustes con su esposo y era enfermera y flebotomista por muchos años. Ella vino a los Estados Unidos en 1976 y tuvo la misma cantidad de trabajos variados incluyendo: negocio de tamales móvil, trabajando como trabajadora del campo migrante in la Florida, NC, Virginia, trabajando en un asilo de ancianos y en Tyson Chicken. Ella se casó en 1960 a la edad de 21. María siempre quería ser una madre y hasta tuvo la oportunidad de ayuda a criar a una de sus sobrinas. En 1979 ella y su esposo tuvieron a su hijo, David Arnulfo, en la Florida. Ella se mudó a NC en 1982 y vivió allí hasta que falleció. María grew up in a rural area of northern Mexico where she learned from her parents the value of hard work and dedication. In Mexico she did many different jobs including making tequila with her dad in the family business, starting as a seamstress and dress maker in her teens, making horse saddles with her husband, and being a nurse and phlebotomist for many years. She came to the United States in 1976 and had just as many different jobs including: running a tamale food truck, working as a farming migrant worker in Florida, NC, Virginia, working at a nursing home and at Tyson Chicken. She got married in 1960 at the age of 21. María always wanted to be a mother, and even had the chance in helping raise one of her nieces. In 1979 she and her husband had their son, David Arnulfo, in Florida. She moved to NC in 1982 and lived there up until her passing. In her later years, she battled dementia. María recibió un Tratado Bíblico en español in la Florida en 1980. A pesar de hacer trabajo emigrante que requería moverse cada pocos meses a varios lugares, ella siempre fue contactada por Testigos de Jehová en todo lugar que iba, muchas veces con el mismo tratado, pero solo en inglés. Cada domingo, por 2 años, ella asistía a 3 diferentes servicios religiosos buscando por verdades Bíblicas. Al fin de esos 2 años ella continuó aprendiendo verdades Bíblicas con los Testigo de Jehová en inglés, a pesar de no conocer muy bien el inglés. Ocho años después, el 14 de diciembre de 1991, ella dedico su vida en bautismo como un Testigo de Jehová, después de haber tenido estudios bíblicos con 6 diferentes personas. Aunque no manejaba auto, ella asistía regularmente a sus reuniones de congregación semanales y a las asambleas anuales y participaba regularmente in su ministerio, con la ayuda de sus hermanos y hermanas espirituales. Ella trabajaba duro para inculcar en su hijo los valores bíblicos que ella aprendió de su estudio de la biblia y también la ética de trabajo que ella aprendió de sus padres. Aunque no sabía cómo usar una computadora o tableta, ella asistía regularmente cada reunión cuando las reuniones de congregación se comenzaron hacer mediante Zoom. A pesar de tener demencia y dificultad con sus ojos, por muchos años se recordaba de los días y horas de sus reuniones espirituales de congregación y se aseguraba asistir y hasta participar cuando ella tenía una asignación. María first received a Spanish Bible Tract in 1980 in Florida. Despite the migrant work she did which involved moving every several months to various locations, she was always contacted by Jehovah’s Witnessses wherever she moved to, many times with the same tract, only in English. For 2 years she attended 3 different religious services each Sunday searching for Bible Truths. At the end of those 2 years, she continued learning Bible truths with Jehovah’s Witnesses in English despite her limited English. Eight years later on Dec 14, 1991, after having received Bible Studies by 6 different individuals, she dedicated her life in baptism as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Although she did not drive, she regularly attended her weekly congregation meetings and yearly conventions and assemblies and participated regularly in her ministry work, with the help of her spiritual brothers and sisters. She worked hard to instill in her son the Bible values she learned from her study of the Bible and also the work ethic she learned from her parents. Even though she did not know how to use a computer or tablet, when the congregation meetings were moved to Zoom, she regularly attended each meeting. Although she had dementia and loss of eye sight, for many years she still remembered the days and times of her spiritual congregation meetings and made sure to join and even participate whenever she had an assignment María tenía fe que en la promesa bíblica de una resurrección como dice en Juan 5:28, 29 “No se asombren de esto, porque viene la hora en que todos los que están en las tumbas oirán su voz y saldrán.” Ella ansiaba el día cuando elle podría ver de nuevo a su madre, padre, y hermanos y hermanas en un paraíso en la tierra. Ella también tenía fe que, si ella fallecía, ella solo estaría dormida y también esperaría el tiempo para abrir sus ojos otra vez y ver a sus queridos. Maria had faith in the Bible’s promise of a resurrection as stated at John 5:28, 29 “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” She looked forward to the day when she would be able to see her mother, father and brothers and sisters again in a paradise on earth. She had faith also that if she were to die, she would only be asleep and would also await the time to open her eyes again and see her loved ones.
