Marie Long Groce

Mrs. Marie Long Groce, 78, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025. She was born December 14, 1946 in Yadkin County to the late Virgil Marvin Long and Zaddie May Livengood Long. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Bobby Lee Groce; her brother, Wayne Long; and her brothers-in-law, Frankie Groce, and Seavon Bell. Mrs. Groce was a member of Peacehaven Baptist Church. She was retired from AT&T. Marie and Bobby was very active members of the Yadkin Valley Cruisers for many years. She loved all types of crafts, especially knitting. She is survived by her sons, Michael (Julie) Groce, Jeffrey Groce; 2 grandsons, Tate (Tasha) Williams, Ty Groce; great-grandchildren, Jasper Williams, Bon Williams; sisters, Elaine Bell, Janet (Adam) Failla; brother, Larry (Wilma) Long; sister-in-law, Linda Groce. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A funeral will follow the visitation in the Gentry Family Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jon Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Longtown Cemetery. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Mtn. Valley Hospice for the loving care given to Marie and her family and a special thank you to, Brenda Winters and Debra Wood for everything.
