Mr. Martin Dallas Reece, 74, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023. He was born June 26, 1948 in Forsyth County to the late Foy William Reece and Pauline “Polly” Martin Reece. Mr. Reece is a veteran of the United States Army, where he served as Crew Chief on a Hewey helicopter during the Vietnam War. Martin was a tobacco and dairy farmer. After farming, Martin became one of the founding owners of Silo Run Golf course. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting, fishing, NASCAR, and he loved to ride horses with his family and friends from childhood until he was 72 years old. Mr. Reece is survived by his children Chad Martin (Kim) Reece, Brittany (Tray) Reece Norman, Brandy Lee (Nina) Reece; the mother of his twin daughters, Molly Reece; aunt Libby (Clyde) Martin Wall; grandchildren, Alexis Reece, Reece Norman, Harper Norman, Hudson Asbury; brother, Allan (Ellen) Reece; nephews Matthew (Sarah) Reece, Brandon (Jill) Reece, and several cousins. The family will receive friends at Gentry Family Funeral Service in East Bend, Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 10:00 AM till 11:15 AM. His funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:30 AM in the Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Will Hamric officiating. Burial will follow at Charity Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors by Yadkin VFW Post #10346. The family would like to thank the staff of SECU Hospice Home for the loving care shown to Martin and his family, and a special thank you to Charity Baptist Church for the prayers and support during this time.
