Marvin Dane Barr

Barr Hamptonville – Marvin Dane Barr, 62, 2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my race, I have kept the faith”, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Yadkin Nursing Care Center. He was born May 16, 1955 in Surry County to the late Paul Jones Barr and Nancy Mayberry Barr.  Dane enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and watching his niece and nephews play sports.  He enjoyed going to the YMCA and doing varies excesses.  Surviving are his brother Darwin (Lisa) Barr; niece, Erin Barr; nephews, Jake and Alex Barr.  His funeral service will held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Jonesville by the Rev Roger Hensley.  Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Jonesville.  Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church in Jonesville, 134 Winston Road, Jonesville, NC  28642.  Gentry Family Funeral Service is serving the Barr family.  Online condolences can be made at www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
