Mary Anne Roberts Younger

Yadkinville – Mary Anne Roberts Younger, 79, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023.  She was born September 27, 1943 in Guilford County to the late James Mancie Roberts and Ruby Lee Kennett Roberts.  Mary Anne graduated from Page High School in Greensboro where she was a member of the Glee Club.  She retired from Chatham Manufacturing after 39 years of service.  Mary Anne was a member of Dennyville Baptist Church where she volunteered with cooking meals for church events, helping with Vacation Bible School and Sunday School.  She was in the Women On Missions and sang in the choir.  She enjoyed visiting people, taking them meals and taking them to their doctor appointments.   She loved the Lord and sharing His Gospel.  She loved listening to Southern Gospel Music.  Mary Anne was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church, where she enjoyed her Sunday School class and made wonderful friendships.  She loved her family and friends and was always there when someone needed her.  She had such a giving heart to anyone she met.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Roberts.  Surviving are her children, Daren (Angela) Younger of Catawba, Karla (Greg) Gentry of Yadkinville, Renee Harrold of East Bend; sisters, Janice (Bill) Johnson, Minda (David) Bower; brother, Jim Roberts; grandchildren, Ashley (Brian) Stanley, Kristie Moore, Brittany McNeill, Jessica (Gary) Younger, Dylan Younger, Kaylee Gentry; great grandchildren, Briar Jones, Taytem Jones, Teagan Stanley, Bellamey Tuomela, Connor Stanley.  Her memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev. Kenny Gooden.  Burial will follow at Union Grove Baptist Cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Saturday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.  Memorials can be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, PO Box 1267, Yadkinville, NC  27055.  Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Younger family.  Online condolences can be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
