Mary (Bitsy) Martin Moxley

Mary (Bitsy) Martin Moxley passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Yadkin Nursing Center at the age of 92. She was born on September 8, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Turner Martin and Jettie Shew Martin of Jonesville, NC. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Fred M. Moxley. Mary is survived by her son, Dana Moxley (Ann-ee), daughter, Melinda Myers, four grandchildren, Wesley Moxley, Susan Moxley, Brett Myers and Lauren Myers, and three great grandchildren, Conor Moxley, Alina Gray and Haven Gray. She was a long-time member and former Secretary of Boonville Baptist Church and member and Treasurer of Boonville Woman’s Club, where she was chosen Woman of the Year in 1998 and 2006. She was also Treasurer and Woman of the Year in the Yadkin Democratic party. She enjoyed working with her husband at Moxley’s Garage and also at Auto Camping and Walmart, where she made many friends. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm this Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021 at Boonville Baptist Church. A celebration of life service will be conducted afterwards at 2:00 pm at Boonville Baptist Church with Rev. John Brown and Rev. Ken Boaz officiating. Burial will follow in Boonville Cemetery. A special thanks goes to the staff of Share-A-Home of Boonville and Yadkin Nursing Center for the wonderful care Mom received.
