Jonesville- Mrs. Mary Charles Jones Gentry, 76, of Jonesville, NC went home to be with Jesus on November 29, 2020.  She was born July 7, 1944 in Yadkin County to the late Charles Thomas and Opal Mathis Jones.  She was married to Billy J. Gentry, the absolute love of her life.  Bill passed away in February 2019 and Mary has missed him every day.  Mary was an exceptional musician.  She was a gifted piano player and started playing at age 6.  In addition to the piano, she played the organ, autoharp, and accordion.  She taught music lessons to hundreds of students for 28 years.  Students were from Yadkin, Surry, Wilkes, and a few other surrounding counties.  Her talent and gift of music were the way she best served the Lord.  Many of her music students are Choir Leaders, Pianist, Organist, and Church Music Directors.  Mary played the piano for several Southern Gospel Quartets, just as her father, Charles had done.  The Quartets traveled to sing and record several albums over the years.  She leaves behind a musical legacy.  Her children, grandchildren, and a great-grandchild will cherish the love and laughter shared and have many cherished memories throughout her life.  The family requests no floral tributes nor other memorials at this time.  A Musical Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in which the tributes can be made towards a Scholarship Fund that will be started.  Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Gentry Family.  A Private Memorial Graveside Service will be held at Island Ford Community Cemetery where Mary will be laid to rest beside her husband and parents.  Online condolences may be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
