Mary Groce Davis

Davis Hamptonville – Mary Jane Groce Davis, 100, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019. She was born July 31, 1919 in Yadkin County to the late Ulysess Sanford Groce, Sr. and Lillian Messick Groce. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred Gray Davis; children, Donald (Yvonne) Gray Davis, Vivian Ann Davis; great grandchild, Daniel Davis; sisters, Addie Johnson, Pearl Brewbaker, Cleo Chipman; brothers, Kermit Groce, Dick Groce, Leck Groce, and Alvin Groce. Surviving is her daughter, Sylvia (Ron) Blake; grandchildren, Erik (Crystal) Davis, Kadren (Luisa) Davis, Scott Underwood; great grandchildren, Brandon (Sarah) Underwood, Judith Davis, Elizabeth (Nick) Hendrix, Brooke Davis, Sarah Davis, Zachary Neumann; great great grandchildren, Isaac Davis, Guy Thomas McGough; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2019 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev, Tim Tucker. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice.
