Mary Porter Dobson

East Bend Mrs. Mary Celestine Porter Dobson, 89, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Willowbrook Healthcare and Rehab. Mrs. Dobson was born August 6, 1931 in Yadkin County to Omer and Evelyn Porter. She was a member of New Patterson Grove Faith Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dobson was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Theodore Dobson; and five brothers, Chester, William Ray, Gray and Bill Porter. She is survived by three children, Rev. Theodore (Deborah) Dobson, Curtis (Geraldine) Dobson and Paulette Stewart; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister, Martha Phillips; a brother, Melvin (Mattie) Porter; special loved ones, Leticia Stewart, Laverne Glenn, Lisa Rockett, and Jada Ganzzermiller; sisters-in-law, Alice Porter and Joanna Porter; and several nieces and nephews. A private funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Gentry Family Chapel in East Bend, 428 E. Main St. East Bend, NC 27018. Burial will follow at New Patterson Grove Faith church cemetery. Mrs. Dobson will be available for public viewing from 8:00AM to 5:00PM, Wednesday, Feb. 24th at the funeral home.
