Mary Carter Morgan went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 19, 2025 at the age of 83. She was born December 31, 1941 in Surry County to Loyal and Mamie Carter. Mary worked for the Veteran’s Administration for 18 years and later retired from Carolon in Rural Hall. She spent lots of her time reading and studying her Bible. Mary was big in politics and served in the Gallup Poll. She loved to read. Mary enjoyed her little dog, Tommy, while her health permitted. She had such a loving and caring heart, and was always seeking opportunities to help others in need.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Morgan, Jr. and siblings, Mildred Alexander, Evelyn Golden, Jack Carter, Tom Carter, and Lou Rae Burchette. She is survived by her son, Craig Collins and his wife, Christy of King; and two step grandchildren, Jessica Barnes and Shaina Barnes.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in State Road. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Village Care in King for the loving care extended to her during her stay there.
