Mary Gentry Pennington

Yadkinville Mary Ruth Gentry Pennington, 68, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018. She was born April 28, 1950 in Ashe County to the late Garfield Holman and Nancy Gentry Brewer. She is survived by her husband Carlos Pennington; children Oscar Hardin Gilley (Joann), Eugene Pennington (Melinda) Melissa Buelin (Johnny), Anita Bost (Sammy), Michelle Cave; grandchildren Amber Chambers (Cory), Andrea Sayers (Jordan Byrd), Ammie Graybeal (Matthew), Garland Sayers (Leesa), Amanda Gross (John), Sharmeta Claypool (Ryan), Christopher Wood, Jocie Wood, John Gilley, Callie Mae Bost, Thomas Bost, Kaylinn Cave; great- grandchildren Ayla and Paxton Chambers, Izabella, Noah, and Caleb Byrd, Abby, Allysa, and Adam McGrady, RJ Drum, Matthew Sayers, Logan, Makinize, and Olivia Gross, Josh, Lee, and Dakota Sayers, Ryder Morgan, Kamy Claypool; sisters Iris Elliott (Roy), Sylvia Kay Combs (Frank), Margaret Jones (Ernie), Jackie Jones; mother-in-law Callie Ester Pennington; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Pennington was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Union Grove. Her funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11:00AM in the Gentry Family Chapel with Dr. Allen Barker, Rev. David Maynard and Pastor Stephen Pope officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Union Grove. The family will receive friends Friday, May 11, 2018 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to National Kidney Services, 620 Montana Dr., Charlotte, NC 28216.
