Mary "Shorty" Collins Evans

Mary “Shorty” Gray Collins Evans, age 90, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2020. She was born September 26, 1930 in Yadkin County to the late Thomas Sanford Collins and Cora Isabell Speer Collins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Pearl Warden, Beulah Warden, Betty Cheek, and Nellie Ruth Collins; brothers, Joshua Collins, Warren Collins, Thomas Ray Collins, Bruce Collins, and one new born brother. She is survived by her daughter, Pam E. (Barry) Smith; brothers, Bobby Collins, and Roger Collins. Mrs. Evans was a member of Redland Pentecostal Church. She will be available for public viewing on Monday, November 16, 2020 from 8:00 AM till 5:00 PM. Friends can express their condolences to her family from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM on Tuesday, November 17 at the funeral home. Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM on Tuesday in the Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Roger Collins and Rev. Bob Swaim officiating. Burial will follow at Yadkinville Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family would like to thank Shelila Evans, and Tammy & Chris Evans for the loving care shown to “Shorty”.
