Maxine Ross Bivins

Mrs. Maxine Ross Bivins, 88, passed away, Tuesday, November 28, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 2, 1935 to the late Paul and Ida Bell Ross. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Joe Gwyn Bivins; brothers, Robert Ross, and Jack Ross. She is survived by her daughters, Lynda (Benny) Carter, Sandy Eldridge; her son, Steve Randolph; grandchildren, Melissa Macemore, Jessica (Wes) Macemore Duggins, Molly (Michael) Carter Ford, Blake Carter, Jordan (Michael) Cajigas; great-grandchildren, Carter Ford, Olivia Duggins, Christian Ford, Eric Duggins, and one great-granddaughter on the way; her brother, Clifford Ross. Mrs. Bivins, enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and reading the Bible. Maxine had a servant’s heart, as she worked in the medical field touching so many lives throughout the years. She loved spending time with her family and she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The family will receive friends, from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM, Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Elkin Presbyterian Church. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Emergency Room and 2nd floor staff at Hugh Chatham Hospital and the staff at Chatham Nursing and Rehab for the loving care given to Maxine.
