Mrs. Melissa Ann Holcomb Adams, 49, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, May 25, 2021 surrounded by her family.  Melissa was born November 20, 1971 to Charles William and Eva Mae Vestal Holcomb.  She was a member of Grace Bible Church.  Melissa was a 1990 graduate of Starmount High School and a 1993 graduate of Forsyth Tech.  After working in Radiology for several years, she graduated from cosmetology school in 2012 and opened her own business, Studio 7 Salon.  Melissa loved the beach and enjoyed hunting for sharks’ teeth. 

In addition to her mother, Melissa was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Nikki Oliver; and a K-9 companion, Phoebe.  She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Michael Shane Adams; children, Gavin Adams, Jenna Adams, and Channin (Jessica) Adams; her father, Charles Holcomb; sister, Tina Whitaker; brother, Landon Holcomb; mother-in-law, Beverly Oliver; brother-in-law, Eddie (Karen) Adams; nieces and nephews, Christina, Andre, Andreas, Jessica, Brody, Ronnie, Anna, and Charleigh; great niece and great nephew, Isabel and Simon; her K-9 companions, Ellie, Roxy and Murphy; and many special friends. 

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 5:00PM, Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, PO Box 98018, Washington, DC 20090-8018. 

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Kim and Doug Longworth, Shannon Watkins, and the many others for their love, support and kindness throughout this difficult journey.  Also, a special thank you to Mtn. Valley Hospice and 9 West & Hematology at Forsyth Medical Center for their loving care and to the Lymphoma Leukemia Society for the amazing contributions to Melissa’s care.
