Michael Wayne Day

Mr. Michael Wayne Day, age 67, went home to be with the Lord on September 13, 2022. Michael was born in Wilkes County on July 10, 1955 to the late Albert & Nancy Matthews Day. 

Michael was a loving husband, father, and pawpaw.  He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters.  He was a well-known tractor mechanic in surrounding counties, for 50 years.  Michael was also an avid fisherman and gun enthusiast.  He will be missed by all those that came to know him over the years.   

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Jenna Jones Day; daughter, Christy (Mitch) Beane; granddaughters, Harley Smith, Gracie Beane, Lizzy Beane; brothers, Ricky (Edna) Day, and Brian Day.

The family is thankful for Trellis Hospice and for all of their loving care of Michael.

A funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Wayne Jones at United Fellowship Church, 3345 Whitaker Road, Boonville, NC 27011 on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 11 am. The family will receive family and friends at Gentry Family Funeral service in Jonesville on Friday, September 16, 2022 from 6 to 8 pm.
