Michael Leon Johnson

HAMPTONVILLE-  Mr. Michael Leon Johnson, 58, of Lone Hickory Road, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 1, 2024 at Forsyth Medical Center.  He was born on October 18, 1965 in Iredell County to Harvey Lee Johnson and Phyllis Wooten Johnson.  Mr. Johnson worked with the trucking industry his entire life and enjoyed traveling all over the country with his work.  He also enjoyed his time riding the mountains of Virginia on his motorcycle, and he was of the Baptist Faith.  Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Paul and Bernice Wooten, whom he adored.  He is survived by his loving mother, Phyllis Wooten Johnson; and several loving siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins, including a special cousin, Paula Stokes.  His funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 5, 2024 in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Kenny Gooden.  Interment was held in Swan Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Johnson family.
