Mildred Mallery Dougherty

Mildred Melissa Mallery Dougherty, 92, passed away on Thursday May 13, 2021 at Walnut Cove Asst. Living. She was born on September 5, 1928 in Hundred, West Virginia; daughter of the late; Norvell Mallery and Nettie Bartrug Mallery. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by five brothers, Lester, Glenn, Boyd, Bernard and Rex. Survivors include her children, Shirley Poland (Rev. John Poland), Dan Dougherty (Debra), Larry Dougherty (Leslie) and Joe Dougherty (Carolene), grandchildren, Sonya Poland, Adrienne Schwarte, Jim Bob Dougherty, Tracy Mosley, Christopher Dougherty, Alison Fryer and Jennifer DeMag and fourteen great grandchildren. She was a member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church all her life. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 6 to 8 pm at Gentry Family Funeral Service. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday May 15, 2021 at 11:00 am at Mt. Olive United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Ammons and Rev. John Poland officiating.
