Minnie King Hemric, 84, gained her angel wings March 23, 2019. She was a loving wife, mother of two, grandmother (Mimmy) of four, great grandmother of one great grandson. She retired after 26 years at AT&T. She was a faithful member of Marler Road Baptist Church. She loved playing the piano and singing in the choir at Victory Chapel for many years. She was loved, cherished by all her family, friends and people who knew her. She was born January 15, 1935 in Surry County to the late Miles Isom King and Nelia Porter King. She was preceded in death by her parents, several brothers and sisters, special grandson Daniel Hemric, and daughter in law Tanya Hemric. Surviving are her husband of 67 years Charles Hemric; son J. R. Hemric; daughter Vickie (Keith) Cain; grandchildren Dustin (Danielle) Hemric, April (Justin) Shores, Ashley Cain, (Matt & Kylie Huttar), great grandson Dustin Hemric, Jr.; two sisters Angeline Mook, Hazel Royal; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday March 25, 2019 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday March 26, 2019 at Marler Road Baptist Church by Rev. Randy Johnson. She will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
