Mitchell Mastin

Mastin Ronda – Talmadge “Mitchell” Mastin, 82, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018. He was born September 21, 1935 in Wilkes County to the late Talmadge Mastin and Hattie Chambers Mastin.  Mitchell was a lifelong member of Dennyville Baptist Church, where he was the choir director, Chairman of the Deacons, and a Sunday School Teacher.  He also sang with several different quartets over many years.  He loved being outdoors on his farm, gardening, and riding his tractors.  Mitchell was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.  Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Betty Swaim Mastin; sons, Chris (Summer) Mastin, Keith (Fiancé – Lori Johnson) Mastin; grandchildren, Matt Mastin, Kayla Mastin, Chance Mastin.  His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Dennyville Baptist Church by the Rev. Joel Riley, the Rev. Dwayne Byrd, and the Rev. Kenneth Jordan.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at Dennyville Baptist Church.  Memorials can be made to Dennyville Baptist Church, 2713 Old Hwy 60, Ronda, NC  28670.  Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville is serving the family.  Online condolences can be made at www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
