YADKINVILLE- Mr. Monroe Edward Hodge, 91, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 10, 2022 at his home. He was born March 25, 1930 in Surry County to the late Henry and Ruby Hodges Hodge. Mr. Hodge was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War. He spent his entire life as a farmer and taking care of the land that he deeply loved. Mr. Hodge was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to his family, loved all of his dogs, especially his special canine companion, Tiny. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hodge was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Henry Hodge. Surviving are his beloved wife of 72 years, Roselyn Winters Hodge, of the home; his son, Michael (Gilda) Hodge, Yadkinville; grandson, Ephram (Elizabeth) Hodge, Yadkinville; Great Grandchildren, LeeAnn Drake, Kolton Hodge; his brother, Billy (Judy) Hodge, Yadkinville; and several nieces, nephews, and numerous friends. Mr. Hodge will be available for viewing during the day on Sunday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM Monday at Gentry Family Funeral Service and his Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 11 AM Monday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Monty Harris. Full Military Honors will follow the service by Yadkin VFW Post 10346. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to either the Alzheimers Association, or to a Hospice/ Adult Care Organization of the donors choice.
