Nancy Ellis Dinkins

Yadkinville – Nancy Ellis Dinkins, 88, who was a loving wife, mother, and mamaw, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024. She was born October 6, 1935 in Davie County to the late William Albert Ellis and Nancy McBride Ellis. Nancy enjoyed reading her bible daily, and she read through her bible from start to finish 15 times. She made several different types of Christmas ornaments, and enjoyed placing them on each Christmas tree that she had in every room in her house. Nancy also collected dolls, tea pots, puzzles, Santa Clause’s, and several other things during her life. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Hall “Duck” Dinkins; and 12 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children, Barry (Lou Ann) Dinkins, Sharon (Skip) Hill; grandchildren, Sheena (Douglas) Figan, Summer (Jamison) Vaught, Savannah (Justin) Spence, Brad Dinkins, Zach Dinkins, Matt (Jayna-Beth) Dinkins; great grandchildren, Gracie Dinkins, Levi Dinkins, Emersyn Spence; several special nieces, nephews, and especially Kay Kilby and Gail Bennett. Her funeral service will be 2:00pm Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev. Ron Davis. Burial will follow at Deep Creek Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00pm on Wednesday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
