Nancy Reece Holt

Mrs. Nancy Shore Reece Holt, 93, passed away Monday, July 12, 2021 at her home.  Mrs. Holt was born December 14, 1927 in Forsyth County to Clarence Dallas and Nova Emma Shore Reece.  She was a member of Deep Creek Friends Meeting where she was the choir director for many years.  She also served as Sunday School teacher and the clerk for the NC yearly meeting as well as the church meeting.  Mrs. Holt enjoyed scrapbooking and had done many for family, church and vacations.  She published the book Deep Creek Friends Cemetery.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holt was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Frank Holt.  She is survived by her children, Nan Holt Smith and husband Chuck, Roger Reece Holt and wife Ginger, Thomas Eugene Holt and wife Janice, and Leah Holt Shepherd and husband Bob; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jon) Grinwis, Paige (Joe) Mays, Hillary (Matt) White, Katie (Andrew) Bryan, Will (Sarah) Holt, Audra Holt, Ethan (Kayla) Collins, Trace Collins, Trevor Collins, Kyle (Summer) Scaggs, Sara (Pip) Cornish, Reid (Meg) Shepherd, and Graham Shepherd; twenty great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. 

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00PM, Friday, July 16, 2021 at Deep Creek Friends Meeting with Pastor Randy Quate officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mtn. Valley Hospice, 243 N. Lee Ave. Yadkinville, NC 27055 or to Deep Creek Friends Meeting Building Fund, 1140 Deep Creek Friends Church Rd Yadkinville, NC 27055.
