Lexington - Mrs. Nancy Foster Sheek, 83, passed away peacefully Sunday April 4, 2021 at the SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkin after declining health for a number of months. She was born August 26, 1937 in Davie County to the late J. Henry and Mary Snyder Foster. She graduated from Cooleemee High School in 1955 and enjoyed reading and traveling through the years. She loved her family and especially the time spent with each of them. Mrs. Sheek was always attending any event that her grandchildren were involved in doing. She was a loving, devoted Mother, Mom to many, and known to others as Aunt Nancy, Nana, and Mawmaw Geek. Mrs. Sheek would intentionally make every child that crossed her path feel safe and loved. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John H. Sheek; her brother, John E. (Cricket) Foster; and her grandson, L Cpl C P Jacob Levy. Surviving are her daughter, Denise Sheek (Donny); her son, Kevin Sheek (Susie); grandson, Elijah Tokala Sheek; granddaughter, Heather Beck (Justin); grandsons, Kenny Chavers (Hannah), Nelson Chavers (Eristen); Great-Grandsons, Austin Funderburk, Waylon Chavers; Great-Granddaughter, Remington Chavers; and her sister, Brenda Jessup of Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:00 PM Saturday, April 10, 2021 in the outside shelter at Smith Grove United Methodist Church , 3492 US Highway 158, Mocksville, NC 27028. Her funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM Saturday with Dr. Lynn B. Jacobs and Rev. Darren L. Crotts, officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 243 North Lee Avenue, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
