Salley Yadkinville- Mrs. Naomi White Salley, 89, of Old US Highway 421 West passed away peacefully Sunday May 7, 2017 at Yadkin Nursing Center. She was born in Surry County to the late Emory and Pearl Phillips White. Mrs. Salley was a member of Branon Friends Meeting, enjoyed crocheting, quilting, gardening, fishing, and loved doing things for others. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Virgel Salley, a brother, Thad White, and a sister, Glenda White. Surviving are her beloved children, Annie Spainhour, of the home; Ruth (Allen) Cheek, Yadkinville; James (Janet) Salley, Yadkinville; grandchildren, Ret. Master Sgt. Ken (Val) Spainhour, Valdosta, Ga., Christina Spainhour of the home, Allen (Cynthia) Cheek, II of Yadkinville, Staff Sgt. Paul (Melissa) Cheek, FLW, MO, Nathan Salley, Yadkinville; great-grandchildren, Kasey, Lyndsay, Samantha, and Wesley Cheek, Abby Dillard; several step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Charlene Trivette of Dobson. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, May 11, 2017 in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Eric Morrison and Rev. Tim Tucker. Burial will follow in the Branon Friends Church Cemetery.
